Newport News, Va. – A 16-year-old is recovering after being shot in the leg on Madison in Newport News on Wednesday.
Police say they received calls about the incident at 4:38 p.m. about shots fired in the area.
They say the teen’s injuries are not life threatening.
They say the victim is listed as a runaway and had a detention order for probation violation.
Police believe two people may have been shooting at one another and a house and a car were hit during the incident.
No one inside of the home or the car were injured.
