Hatteras Island, N.C. – A Buxton man is now facing numerous charges, including breaking and entering, according to Chief Deputy Steve Hoggard.
The Dare County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Probation Officers conducted a joint investigation on Hatteras Island regarding a probationer allegedly involved in some criminal activity and in violation of his probation.
Investigators and Probation Officers were able to determine that the probationer was in violation of his probation, and was subsequently caught attempting to sell stolen items.
The suspect also allegedly sold a stolen item to a pawn shop in Virginia, according to Chief Deputy Hoggard. Deputies were able to recover some of the stolen property.
On January 14, deputies arrested 24-year-old Billy Jack Quidley of Buxton, North Carolina. Quidley is charged with three counts of Felony Probation Violation; Misdemeanor Larceny; Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Property; Felony Breaking and Entering; Felony Larceny; and Felony Possession of Stolen Property.
Quidley was committed to the Dare County Detention Center in lieu of $92,000 bond.
