Elizabeth City, N.C. – Crews put out a fire at an Elizabeth City restaurant on Friday night.
This happened in the 1800 block of Weeksville Road at the Barbecue Barn.
They say the fire started in the kitchen because of malfunctioning kitchen equipment.
The fire was contained to just one side of the building.
Because of the age of the building, the attic area and a portion of the kitchen was destroyed.
