Fort Eustis, Va. - About 20 Soldiers from the 510th Human Resources Co., Special Troops Battalion, 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary) returned in the early morning hours Friday. They were deployed supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. The homecoming happened during a ceremony at the Army Training Support Center (ATSC), Annex 3.
The unit, commanded by Capt. Jeffrey Davis, has been on a 9-month deployment to Afghanistan.
During its deployment, the 510th Human Resources Co. was responsible for casualty liaison operations: casualty reporting, casualty assistance and casualty notification. Additional duties included ensuring the safety of distinguished visitors in their area of responsibility.
