As snow continues to fall throughout Hampton Roads, VDOT crews are busy working around-the-clock to make the roadways safe for travel.

Over 100 trucks are actively working on the interstates and more than 350 pieces of equipment are available to plow and treat the roadways throughout the region.

Crews will continue with these activities as long as conditions exist.

Road conditions are currently moderate to severe, which means that snow or ice is on major portions of the roadway and some roads may be partially blocked.

Bridges, overpasses and roadways are particularly icy.

Motorists are advised to delay travel if at all possible.

During this weather event, VDOT’s priorities in the Hampton Roads area will be to treat the interstates, then move efforts to high volume primary and secondary roads.
