(CNN) — Sen. Mark Warner is all for efforts to boot pop superstar Justin Bieber out of the country.
A petition on the White House’s “We the People” site created last month to deport the troubled Canadian singer and revoke his green card has almost 250,000 signatures.
“As a dad with three daughters is there someplace I can sign?” Warner said Tuesday on FM 99’s “Rumble in the Morning” radio show when asked about the petition.
The Virginia Democrat later tweeted his willingness to sign on with a link to the station’s story: “It’s true: I’m not a #Belieber.”
The White House petition points to Bieber’s “dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing” behavior as a misrepresentation of American pop culture and a “terrible influence on our nation’s youth.”
Bieber, 19, was arrested last week in Toronto, accused of assaulting his limousine driver in December. He also faces charges of drunken driving, resisting arrest and driving on an expired license after being stopped by police in Miami Beach, Florida, last month.
