Virginia Beach, Va. - Virginia Beach police have arrested two men in the brutal beating of a man who stopped to move construction barrels someone had moved into the roadway on Princess Anne Road.

22-year-old Justin Wayne Squires and 32-year-old Steven Girard Farland Jr. are being held in the Virginia Beach Jail on No Bond.

The two have been charged with Robbery, Felonious Assault, Conspiracy To Commit Felony, and Use Of Firearm in Commission of Felony in the early morning beating of James Sparks.

Sparks required surgery to wire his jaw shut after the attack.

Despite his injuries, Sparks told NewsChannel 3's Erica Greenway he’s not holding on to anger.

“I forgive these individuals because this may be what they were trained to do, this may be what they’ve been doing their whole life, they don’t know any different, I forgive these people.”
