Man wanted for Suffolk homicide captured in Tennessee

Posted

A man wanted for a Suffolk homicide has been arrested in Nashville, according to the United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Jeffrey Jennings was wanted for homicide, possession with intent to distribute and weapons charges related to the homicide.

Authorities say Jennings and the victim were involved in an argument. Investigators say the situation calmed down, but that Jennings tracked down the victim and shot him in the back of the head.

Investigators believe that Jennings then stood over the body and fired more shots, at point blank range.

Suffolk Police and the United States Marshals Service Task Force in Norfolk worked together and received information that Jennings was residing in Nashville, TN.

Jennings was able to elude capture until Tuesday when he was identified and arrested by Deputy US Marshals in Nashville.

He is currently being housed in Nashville awaiting extradition back to Virginia.
