Suffolk, Va. – An early morning fire displaced a family of eight Saturday morning.
Emergency Communications received the call about the fire at 2:40 a.m. and units were on scene in the 1000 block of Custis Road in the East Suffolk Gardens neighborhood at 2:45 a.m.
The fire was under control at 3:10 a.m.
The home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage and the family, consisting of four children and four adults, are being assisted by the Red Cross. There were no injuries.
Engines 2 and 3, Rescue 1, Ladder 3, EMS 1, Battalion 1 and Medic 3 responded.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
