Vehicle hits Au Bon Pain outside Williamsburg Pottery

A 77-year-old woman drove her vehicle into the Au Bon Pain restaurant outside the Williamsburg Pottery on Thursday morning.

James City County Police say at 11:30 a.m., the woman’s 1999 Toyota sedan hit the building.

The woman told police that she stepped on the accelerator and the vehicle jumped the curb, crashed through the patio fence and into the restaurant wall.

There were patrons inside the restaurant but no one, including the driver, was injured.

The JCC Fire Department checked out the building and deemed it safe.

No charges were filed.
