Update: Va. State Police have identified the driver killed in Friday’s crash on I-64 as 50-year-old Charles Edward Turner, Jr. of Norfolk.
Norfolk, Va. – An accident on I-64 eastbound near Northampton Blvd has now turned deadly.
State Police say a 2006 Chevy Impala was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when the driver attempted to make a sudden lane change and struck a 2013 Honda Civic, lost control and hit an embankment and slid into a tree. The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene.
This happened at 10:03 p.m. near Northampton Blvd. in Norfolk.
The accident is still being investigated, once next of kin has been notified State Police will release the name of the victim
