York County, Va. - A 19-year-old York County man is behind bars charged in the murder of his mother.
Police say this happened on 110 Ponsonby Drive.
They responded to a call at the residence at around 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday. When they arrived, they found 40-year-old Heather Perkins dead in her bedroom. They say she had been stabbed.
She lived in the home with her 19-year-old son Ronnie L. Dovbish who was also there when deputies arrived.
He was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. He is now being held without bond at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
