Chesapeake Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon around 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Taylor Road and Portsmouth Boulevard.

Police say it is believed at this time that the driver of a Honda sedan suffered a medical emergency, causing him to rear-end a red pickup truck.

The driver of the Honda was transported to Maryview Medical Center and is currently in surgery.

The driver of the red pickup truck left the scene prior to police arrival.

The accident is currently under investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
