Today we honor retired sergeant first class James Rankins.
He served 20 years in the US Army.
He was stationed at joint base Langley-Eustis, where he served as a member of the honor guard, a cargo specialist, and an instructor. He also participated with operation deep freeze in Mcmurdo station, Antarctica and Christ church, New Zealand from 1991 to 1994.
Sergeant Rankins currently lives in Newport News with his loving wife and family.
