Court documents in the case of a woman killed at a Virginia Beach motel last week show that the woman’s son is the suspect that has been arrested.

According to the documents, 27-year-old Damien Michael Dukes called police dispatchers at 5:53 a.m. on April 10th and told them that he had killed his mother.

Dukes told police the crime happened in room 106 of the Studios for Less Motel at 1717 South Military Highway.

When officers responded, they found Dukes’ mother, Victory Star Winner, dead. Her cause of death has been determined to be due to blunt force trauma.

Dukes was also in the room when police arrived. He was taken into custody and taken to the Virginia Beach Detective Bureau. He has been charged with second degree murder.

Police remained on scene and collected evidence from the motel room, including two 20-lb dumbbells, two 10-lb dumbbells, black plastic trash bags, a handheld phone, and a comforter and blanket.

Dukes remains in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center on no bond.
