“Wings”, a souvenir store, caught fire early Thursday morning in Duck, North Carolina, according to a local YouTube page and store employees.

“We are being told that vehicles travelling through Duck are being detoured around the area of the Wings. Detour is at Scarborough Lane around Christopher Drive. According to OBX Airwaves, the Wings Store is Fully Involved and at this time it is a Defense Only operation.” That post was made on a local Facebook page, “Oregon Inlet Idiots”, this morning at around 9 a.m.

Employees tell NewsChannel 3 the fire started around 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Nobody was inside at the time of the fire; the store does not open until 9 a.m.

No injuries have been reported.

The owner of the shop is on vacation in Florida, NewsChannel 3 has learned.

Employees say they believe the fire was electrical, but there will be no official cause released until Friday, at the earliest.
