UPDATE: Most customers restored after losing power in Norfolk

UPDATE: The power has been restored to most customers in Norfolk after fuses blew and caused an outage earlier on Thursday. 

Bonita Harris with Dominion Power says the fuses that blew were feeding into the Thole substation. About 11,726 customers lost power including part of the HRBT, Southern Shopping Center and DePaul Hospital. 

Crews were able to restore power incrementally. Customers’ services were restored in less than 30 minutes. 

Dominion Virginia Power has responded to an outage in Norfolk.

More than 4,000 customers are without power currently.
