Newport News, Va. – Newport News police are on the hunt for a man who they say raped a woman at knifepoint last month.

They say a 31-year-old Michigan woman was at a bus stop on Holland Road in Virginia Beach at around 11 p.m. She was trying to get to Newport News.

She says a man who was driving a dark green two-door car started a conversation with her and offered to give her a ride to the Amtrak Train Station near Huntington Park in Newport News.

Once in the area, the woman says the man became verbally aggressive with her and demanded sex.

She says he then kicked her out of his vehicle, took money from her jacket and drove away.

She says the man had a tattoo on the right side of his neck which read “XIII.” He is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s.

Someone saw the woman stranded and stopped to help. Police were notified about the incident at 2:40 p.m.
