United States Marshals in Hampton Roads arrested a convicted sex offender in Virginia Beach who was wanted out of the Northern District of West Virginia for failing to register as a convicted sex offender.
Charlie Abrams was previously convicted in Norfolk of Carnal Knowledge of a victim between the ages of 13-15.
U.S. Marshals say they developed info that led them to believe Abrams may have fled to the Hampton Roads area and could be residing in Virginia Beach.
After many hours of investigation and surveillance, Abrams was seen at a residence in Virginia Beach. Deputies made entry and were able to take him into custody without incident.
The U.S. Marshals led task force consists of law enforcement officers from the U.S. Marshals, Chesapeake Sheriff’s Department, Newport News Police Department, Portsmouth Police Department and Norfolk Police Department.
