Norfolk, Virginia - Norfolk Police are investigating a fatal car accident on East Ocean View Avenue near Chesapeake Boulevard.
According to police, just before 2:00am, a car traveling westbound hit a tree in the 700 block of East Ocean View Avenue.
No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. She has been identified as 47-year-old Patricia Beane of Norfolk.
Investigators believe speed may have been a factor.
