Hampton, Va. - A man has died after he was shot to death in Hampton on Friday afternoon.
At around 1:45 p.m. emergency officials received a call about a shooting that happened in the 100 block of Spanish Trail.
When they arrived, they saw a man who had been shot in his upper body.
He was taken to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead at 7:03 p.m.
He has been identified as 18-year-old Elijah-Juan Zaire Vanness.
Police say he was sitting in a four-door Toyota Camry when he was approached by someone and shot.
Officials do not have any information about a motive.
