UPDATE: This thunderstorm watch has now been canceled.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several areas in Hampton Roads and North Carolina until 10 p.m.
Heavy rain could flood roads very quickly so please do not drive into areas where water covers the road.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Northeast North Carolina including Camden, Chowan, Gates, Pasquotank, Currituck, and Perquimans and all of the Hampton Roads area.
