Newport News, Va. – A swimming advisory has been issued for Hilton Park Beach in Newport News.
Officials collected samples on May 20th and 21st and they say bacteria levels exceeded state water quality standards.
They’ve posted a sign alerting folks on the beach about the advisory.
They will collect more samples and they expect to have the results by Friday.
Officials will lift the advisory once bacteria levels return to a safe level.
