Two arrested for armed robbery of a bicyclist in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. – Virginia Beach Police have arrested two men for an armed robbery that took place Sunday morning.

Police say they were dispatched to the 1100 block of York Lane at approximately 7:20 a.m. Sunday morning.

The victim told police that he was riding his bicycle when a beige 4-door vehicle pulled up in front of him and stopped.

The victim says a black male armed with a handgun exited the car and demanded the victim’s backpack.

No one was injured.

The two suspects were later identified as 19-year-old Devon Sykes of Henrico and 20-year-old Julian Crosby of Chesterfield.

Both have been charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, Use of a Firearm and Robbery.
