Elizabeth City, NC – A wanted man is behind bars and another man has been charged after a two-hour standoff in Elizabeth City.
Deputies were looking for 18-year-old Cody Carden who had outstanding felony warrants for breaking and entering a vehicle, larceny of items, and possession of stolen property. He received a secured bond for $50,000.
He was also served with a 14 order for arrests for violating the conditions of a release.
They found Carden in the 1000 block of Florida Road in Elizabeth City where they say he refused to come out.
This prompted a standoff which lasted over two hours. He was eventually taken out of the home.
After Carden was captured, deputies found marijuana growing in the backyard of the home. Christopher Honeycutt, 23, was then arrested and charged for felony manufacturing marijuana and received a $20, 000 secured bond.
Both men were taken to the Albemarle District Jail.
