Portsmouth, Va. - Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department are investigating a second late-night shooting that left one person injured
The shooting was reported around 11:34 pm be medics who responded to a man who appeared to have been shot on the 50 block of Merrimac Drive.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found an adult man with a gunshot wound to his torso. Medics took the male to Sentara Norfolk General where he underwent surgery.
Currently, detectives do not have a suspect or motive in the case. Detectives do not believe that this shooting and the incident that occurred in the 3800 block of Towne Point Road are related.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the crime line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers do not have to give their name or testify in court and if their tip leads to an arrest they could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
