Newport News, Va. - A 19-year-old died in the hospital Monday evening after he was shot in the head around 11:00 p.m. Sunday night.
Newport News Police responded to a call of a shooting in the 1100 block of 22nd Street and found Rachard Timothy Lewis lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at 5:25 p.m. Monday.
Police say the only suspect information available at this time is a description of three black men wearing dark clothing.
Detectives have not yet determined the motive behind the shooting.
