Newport News, Va. – Newport News Police say a 17-year-old has been hospitalized after a shooting on Tuesday evening.
Police say they were called at 5:34 p.m. and notified of a shooting in the 800 block of 29th Street.
According to investigators, the teen was standing on the porch talking to a group of people when when a black man showed up, shot him in the leg and back and left.
The 17-year-old was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his back and leg.
Police say he is being uncooperative to the investigation. Officers spoke to several people in the area but were unable to obtain a suspect description.
