Newport News, Va- The Fire Department received a call reporting a house fire with someone inside on the 600 block of 48th street at 2:50 pm.
Fire trucks arrived on the scene at 2:52 pm and reported smoke showing.
The crews found that everyone was out of the house and safe. There were no injuries.
The fire was under control at around 3:28 pm.
The Red Cross has been contacted for assistance for the resident because the house has been condemned due to damage.
At this time, the cause appears to be accidental.
