Suffolk Police are looking into a near-drowning involving a five-year-old that occurred on Monday afternoon.
Police say the call came in at 2:40 p.m. and happened in a pool in the 2600 block of Longstreet Lane.
Emergency dispatchers were able to provide CPR instructions to the boy’s mother and he was breathing on his own when rescue units arrived.
The child was transported via Nightingale helicopter to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
