Chesapeake, Virginia - A barricade situation at Studio and Suites 4 Less on Battlefield Boulevard near Wal-Mart ended peacefully around 5:30am Tuesday when the suspect surrendered to police.
Police have arrested 38-year-old Alan Lawson of Newport News in reference to the barricaded/SWAT incident.
Lawson is charged with resisting arrest; simple assault; threats made to a lawn enforcement officer; and damaged property.
The suspect also has outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court; resisting arrest; and damaged property.
It happened late Monday night; police were called to the motel shortly before 11:00pm.
A man with a weapon, Alan Lawson, was refusing to come out of his room and was making threats against himself.
No one else was believed to be inside the room.
A portion of Wal-Mart Way was blocked off until the situation ended.
No one was hurt.
