Chesapeake, Va. - A family of five will have to find a new place to live after flames destroyed a Chesapeake home on Wednesday. Officials say a lightning strike caused the fire.
Crews say this happened in the 1300 block of Bainbridge Blvd. Calls came in about the fire at 5:07 p.m. and firefighters were there within minutes.
When they got there, there was heavy smoke coming from the two-story home.
The fire was under control by 5:28 p.m. No one was injured.
The Red Cross is now assisting.
The fire was contained to the attic. Officials say the rest of the house sustained smoke and water damage.
