Franklin man arrested after stabbing incident

One man has been arrested in Franklin after an argument resulted in a stabbing.

Franklin Police say the victim, 50-year-old Darren Patty was involved in an argument with the suspect, 30-year-old Eric Michael Duran, who was found to be highly intoxicated.

During the argument, Duran retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Patty once in his left hand.

Patty was treated and released from Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Duran was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding. He is currently in the Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond.

Police say the victim and the suspect share the dwelling on North High Street.
