Suffolk, Va. - Three blown electrical transformers started a house fire in Suffolk that has left one person displaced and residents of the 300 block of Cedar Street without power.

Fire crews arrived on the scene at 9:35am and found neighbors who had heard the blast trying to put out a fire in an electrical box a wall on a two-story home's porch with a fire extinguisher.

Crews used additional fire extinguishers to put out the blaze since the box was still live and water could not be used.

Damage to the two-story residence extended to the upstairs bathroom. The occupant was displaced and is being assisted by the American Red Cross.

Dominion Virginia Power also sent additional crews to determine what initially caused the transformers to blow and fire marshals are investigating.
