Repairs to affect Kempsville Road, Fairfield Boulevard intersection

Virginia Beach, Va. – ​Starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, July 17, the intersection of Kempsville Road and Fairfield Boulevard will be partially closed while water valve repairs are made by the Department of Public Utilities.

To safely facilitate repairs, the following traffic changes will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.:

  • Southbound and northbound lanes on Kempsville Road will be reduced to one lane.
  • Fairfield Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Pleasant Hall Drive and Kempsville Road. Traffic will be detoured via Kempsville Road, Locke Lane and Lord Dunmore Drive.

Advanced warning signs will be posted advising motorists of the repairs. Weather permitting, repairs are expected to be completed by Friday, July 18, prior to morning rush hour traffic.
