Williamsburg, Va. – A man is facing several charges after a domestic incident, police tell NewsChannel 3.

On July 19, 2014 around midnight, Williamsburg Police responded to the 300 block of Penniman Road for a domestic dispute.

The victim told police that her boyfriend tried to break into her apartment.

The suspect had left the area by the time the officers arrived, police say.

The investigation determined that the home is actually occupied by both parties. The victim told police that the man, 57-year-old Nathaniel Dove, Jr. of Williamsburg, kicked her during an earlier argument and would not allow her to leave.

Police charged Dove with Domestic Assault.

Officers returned to the home several hours later for another reported domestic incident; Dove was taken into custody at this time.

During the second domestic situation, Dove did not allow the victim to leave when she tried.

Dove was charged with Abduction and detained once he arrived at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, police say.
