Man charged with bank and credit union robberies in York County, Hampton and Newport News

York County, Va. – A Hampton man has been arrested and charged with robbing credit unions and banks in York County, Hampton and Newport News.

He was captured thanks to a Crime Line tip.

51-year-old Reginald Vann Robinson was arrested at his Hampton home by the U.S. Marshals and the Newport News Police Department Fugitive Unit following a joint investigation by the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, the Newport News Police Department, and the Hampton Police Department.

Robinson was charged with Attempted Robbery and Burglary to Commit Robbery for the following robberies:

  • March 28th at the Wells Fargo located in the 2000 block of Kecoughtan Road in Hampton.
  • April 18th  at the Bayport Credit Union located in the 2300 block of Cunningham Drive in Hampton
  • May 27th at the Virginia Educators Credit Union located in the 800 block of Main Street in Newport News
  • June 13th at the Credit Union Service Center located in the 1600 block of Rt 17 in York County

He is being held at the Newport News City Jail.
