Chesapeake Police are investigating several fraud cases that have occurred over the past several months after at least three victims have reported their credit cards were being used fraudulently.

The scammer is reportedly using a skimming device to read information off a victim's card once it has been swiped. It is unknown where the device is set up or where the scam is happening from.

Police say a man was captured on surveillance cameras using three of the cards to purchase gift cards at various stores like Food Lion, Walgreens and Rite Aid locations on Battlefield Boulevard in the Great Bridge and Greenbrier areas of the city.

He may be involved in other cases as well.
