Suffolk, Va. – Route 58 was shut down briefly on Thursday after a fire on a tour bus in Suffolk.
Dispatchers were notified about the incident at 5:50 p.m. Officials shut down Route 58 westbound.
There were 40 people on board at the time of the fire. The bus was headed for Lake Gaston, NC.
All of the passengers were able to get off the bus. No one was hurt.
Traffic had to be diverted to Portsmouth Blvd. as a wrecker worked to clear the scene.
