Chesapeake, Va.- Three dogs and a cat died in a fire that heavily damaged a home in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake Saturday evening.
Fire crews were called to the fire in the 3100 block of Sir Kay Court at 6:38 p.m.
When they arrived at the scene 7 minutes later, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the one-story home.
The fire was under control at 6:53 p.m.
The cause appears to have been an electrical short in an exterior outlet towards the back of the house.
There were no injuries but the family of seven that lived in the home have been displaced.
