Police dashcam captures North Carolina man dragging stolen safe behind car

Swansboro, N.C. – A North Carolina man is in jail after being accused of stealing a safe from a drug store and dragging it behind a car – right past a police officer.

22-year-old Ryan James Mullins passed a police officer and was caught on police dash cam was dragging the safe when he was caught Tuesday after an early-morning break-in,  WCTI reports.

Mullins was charged with safecracking, breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, trafficking of opium or heroin and several traffic violations.

Investigators say Mullins may have been trying to get drugs that were inside the safe.
