UPDATE: Franklin Police apprehend man wanted on several charges

Franklin Police apprehended Abdul Hakim Grant on August 25th at 9:00 p.m. without incident. He is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond. 


Franklin Police are looking for a man who they say is wanted on several charges and is also a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred August 16th.

Police say 21-year-old Abdul Hakim Grant has several arrest warrants on file for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, reckless handling of a firearm, concealed weapon, discharge a firearm within city limits, felony possession of stolen property, resisting arrest, and destruction of property.

He is also a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred on Wilson Street August 16th where a house was struck by gunfire.

Grant is a black male, 5’ 9” tall and weighs approximately 148 pounds, he has no known address. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
