Man arrested in August shooting of teen in Norfolk

UPDATE: Norfolk Police have arrested 35-year-old Mitchell R. Grice and have charged him with Malicious Wounding, Use of a Firearm, and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon for his alleged involvement in this incident. He is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail.

Norfolk, Va. – Police are looking for a person who shot a teen over the weekend, officials tell NewsChannel 3.

On August 24 around 9:35 p.m., a caller reported hearing gunshots at the Masonic Lodge, located at 2313 Tidewater Drive.

Norfolk Police and Fire Rescue responded and found a 14-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect has been described as a black male with a medium complexion, approximately 5’6”, a goatee, wearing a black fitted style baseball hat, and a white t-shirt, police say.
