Norfolk Police are looking for a man in connection with a robbery that occurred on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the Chinatown Restaurant at 720 Church Street around 8:20 p.m.

An employee told officers that a middle-aged black man entered the business and produced a note demanding money while implying that he had a weapon.

The employee did not give the suspect any money.

The suspect left the restaurant and walked into the Subway restaurant in the same strip. He gave the employee there the same note and the employee complied.

As the suspect was walking out, he was briefly detained by a citizen before running away.

Detectives arrived on scene and were able to identify the man as 42-year-old Bruce J. Howland. He is currently wanted for Robbery and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Bruce Howland, are encouraged to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
