Woman partially ejected from car after slamming into tree in Suffolk

Suffolk, Va. – A woman had to be airlifted to the hospital on Wednesday after her car ran off the road before slamming into a tree.

Crews closed one lane of Portsmouth Blvd. /Route 58 while they worked to clear the accident.

They were called at around 6:07 p.m. about the accident.  They say the 27-year-old woman who was driving a Honda Accord ran off the road, hit a tree and was partially ejected.

She was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General for non-life threatening injuries.

Officials are working to remove the vehicle from the side of the road.

This accident is still under investigation.
