A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Virginia Beach after allegedly shooting another person in the leg during an altercation on Friday, August 22nd.
Virginia Beach Police say the victim walked into Virginia Beach General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg around 9:45 p.m.
Investigators say the victim witnessed an altercation between the suspect and a family member and intervened to stop the altercation.
As the three were walking towards the 200 block of Oceanside Drive, the victim and suspect began to argue and the victim was shot.
The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Dajuan Raikey Tripp. He was arrested and charged with Felonious Assault and Use of a Firearm. He is being held in the Virginia Beach Correction Center without bond.
