UPDATE: Three people dead after car accident in Accomack County

Accomack County, Va.- Three people died after a car accident in Accomack County.

It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday evening on Route 13 near First St. in Keller.

A 1999 Chevrolet Venture going north on Route 13 crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into a southbound 2012 Nissan Altima head on.

The driver of the Altima, 58-year-old Arnette N. Chandler of Roosevelt, NY and passengers, 55-year-old Diann W. Jones of Exmore, Va. and 12-year-old A'Jamae Jones died at the scene.

A 13-year-old male passenger was ejected from the car and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was flown to Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters and remains there today.

Two other passengers, an 8-year-old girl and 9-year-old girl were transported to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver of the van has been identified as 36-year-old Bonfilio Velazquez of Accomac, Va. Velazquez was not injured and has been charged with DUI and three counts of involuntary manslaughter.

He is being held without bond at Eastern Shore Regional Jail.

The crash remains under investigation. The southbound lanes of Route 13 were reopened to traffic by 1 a.m. Sunday.
