UPDATE: Nine without home after two-alarm fire at Suffolk complex

Suffolk, Va. - Nine people have been displaced after a two-alarm fire at a Suffolk apartment complex.

The fire happened at the Wilson Pines Apartments in the 2500 block of East Washington Street in the downtown area.

Officials say they were notified about the fire at 7:36 p.m. and arrived just moments later. They say the fire was confined to one building of the complex and spread to two apartment units and a breezeway. The fire was under control by 8:41 p.m.

No injuries have been reported.

Crews had the 2500 block of East Washington Street closed but now one lane is open.

Those displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
