Virginia Beach, Va. – After nearly 30 years, police say they’ve found the man responsible for a rape that occurred on General Booth Boulevard in Virginia Beach back in 1985.

They say on April 13th at around 2 a.m., a victim was walking southbound in the area when Andrew Scott Tarantole pulled her into the woods and raped her.

This case went inactive after police exhausted all leads at the time. It was reopened and evidence at the scene was resubmitted to the Forensics State Lab.

They found a positive match and the evidence was  taken to the Commonwealth Attorney on Friday, September 5th. Tarantole was arrested.

He is now being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.

This case remains under investigation.
