SURVEILLANCE VIDEO: Suspect sought for BP robbery in Portsmouth

Portsmouth Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Sunday, August 31 at the BP gas station in the 3600 block of High Street.

Police say they received a 911 call at 9:42 p.m. that night.

Detectives say the suspect entered the business, pointed a gun at the female clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money in a plastic bag, fleeing towards Western Branch Boulevard.

No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, last seen wearing a dark colored shirt, lighter colored shorts and white sneakers. The suspect stood approximately 5’6” tall and weighed between 130-140 pounds.  He was armed with a dark colored revolver and wore a “Spiderman” mask.
